Fair warning: I try to keep things curated, so don't post all the photos I get. Good resolution, a clear view of your hair and having a style that is interesting/ different are all super important factors.
Mop Shots A social network of sorts for hair enthusiasts with the tagline "Where did you get your hair did?" Be forewarned: Some of the U.S's largest cities still remain pretty sparsely represented.
Hair On The Brain Blog from an L.A.-based reader. Mostly pictures of celebrities, and not just short haired ones, although there is a "Short Hair" section on the sidebar.
Behind the Chair Hairgasm! Among other things, Behind the Chair showcases the latest hair "Collections" from top salons. About 1/3 of the pics are of short cuts, too, so you won't be short of inspiration next time you make the trek to the salon.

Mia Farrow was so stupidly pretty in her younger days it almost makes me forgive her for the ridiculous 12 day hunger strike or whatever it was she went on a year or two ago. I know it was for a good cause, and yes it brought attention to Dafur, so I suppose I’ll cut her some slack. Plus, after having your partner run off with your adopted daughter, you really can’t blame a gal if she goes slightly bat-shit crazy. And in the scheme of things, amazingly, it seems she’s stayed mostly sane.
Anyway, Mia Farrow! Seriously. So perfect I’d gasp if I saw someone like this in person as would every man, woman or child with a pair of eyes.
Random fact: Did you know Tilda is polyamorous? From Wikipedia:
Swinton lives in Nairn, in the Highland area of Scotland, with Scottish painter John Byrne and their twin children: a son, Xavier, and a daughter, Honor. She travels with her partner Sandro Kopp, a German/New Zealand painter. She has been with Kopp since 2004 and the relationship has Byrne’s blessing. In an interview, Swinton commented on her domestic situation: “It’s the way we have been for nearly four years. I’m very fortunate. It takes some extraordinary men to make a situation like that work.
Wow, I received links to so many stellar hair sites! I’m still pouring - and drooling - over them, but I will share them with you all soon via a kickass roundup post along with a permanent place for the best and the brightest on the sidebar.
In the meantime, I wanted to share a cut I loved on one of those sites you said you loved, UK Hairdressers.
This is a superb “grow out” style. It’s short enough that it’s not far from a pixie, but long enough that it won’t look bad if you go three months without a trim. Those British, I tell you. They’ve got the accent and the style down pat!
Personal related note: My office manager is finishing up hair school and offered to have me be his “model” for his final hair test in April! If I do it, it means I have to grow out my hair until then, and for his test he would be required to give me pin curls and an actual hair cut, among other things. Yes, pin curls! Who doesn’t want pin curls for at least one in their life? And for the cut, I am thinking this would be a good one to mix things up. Still debating what to do next, though! I still want it short, but new, edgy and different. The only caveat is that it also needs to be professional. And manageable. And not require me to buy a hairbrush. Hmmm.
